April 30, 2013 - Senator Waugh discusses his legislation, SB 688, which would create the offense of theft of secondary metals, such as wire, pipe or cable commonly used by railroad and commuter rail agencies, as well as gas and electrical utilities.

April 30, 2013 - During session, Senator Waugh offers a condolence resolution for Chief Rodney Miller of the Loganville Volunteer Fire Company. Chief Miller was struck by a car and killed in the line of duty on Saturday, April 27 while directing traffic around the scene of an earlier car accident. Audio

Governor Corbett Calls for Flags to be Lowered

In honor of fallen Fire Chief Rodney Miller of Loganville, Governor Corbett has called for flags at the Capitol Complex and at state buildings in York County to be lowered to half-staff until  Friday, May 3rd at sunset, the day of Chief Miller’s funeral.


Department of State Warns of Scams

Residents should be aware of charity scams following the Boston Marathon bombings and businesses are warned of an "Annual Meeting Disclosure Statement Scam"


Pothole Hotline

PennDOT reminds motorists to call 1-800-FIX-ROAD to report potholes and other roadway maintenance concerns on state roads.  And check out the “Evolution of a Pothole” to learn more about how they are formed and repaired.


Electronic Device Disposal

The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is reminding consumers and businesses that as of Thursday, Jan. 24, they can no longer throw away their electronic devices with their trash. Read about the Pennsylvania Covered Device Recycling Act and proper ways to dispose of these devices on DEP’s Electronics Recycling Management Program page.

The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) has launched PAGasSwitch, a natural gas shopping tool for PA consumers that will make it easier to shop for a competitive natural gas supplier by entering your zip code to review prices, products and incentives from suppliers in your area.


PA Turnpike Summer Employment Opportunities

If you or someone you know is looking for a summer job, the Pennsylvania Turnpike is accepting applications, which must be completed through the online employment system.


Solar Rebates Available

The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) announced that the Sunshine Solar Rebate Program has been temporarily reinstated.
